Metropolis Summit – Online Conference

The Economic and Social Impact of COVID-19 on Immigration, Integration and Settlement in Canada

Summary

The COVID-19 Social Impacts Network and Metropolis Canada will be holding a Virtual Summit on November 12, 13 & 16 2020.

We are very pleased to announce that we will be holding the first virtual Metropolis Summit, with all the quality content offered via the CVENT platform, on November 12, 13 & 16, 2020. Our mobile event app will be an integral part of the experience, allowing participants to interact and engage with each other through a live and dynamic platform.

As many of you are aware, we suspended this year's conference in Winnipeg for health and safety reasons related to the COVID-19 pandemic. As this situation continues to be precarious and unpredictable, we will only be resuming the Metropolis Canada Conference's in-person meetings as soon as our public health authorites deem it safe to do so.

If you were registered to our Winnipeg conference, your email address will be recognized by our online registration system and you will recieve a complementary conference pass to our virtual summit. You will also be entitled to another complimentary conference pass for the Metropolis Canada Conference which will take place in March 2021. While the intention is to hold it in Vancouver, we anticipate that the March 2021 event will also take place virtually due to the pandemic. More information for the March 2021 Metropolis Canada conference will follow.

Metropolis is the largest annual gathering of researchers, policy makers and representatives from community and settlement organizations working in the field of immigration and settlement in Canada. The event connects up to 1,000 attendees annually to discuss emerging issues, identify and set research priorities and inform policy regarding immigration, refugees settlement and integration in Canada. Our network continues to expand across many regions and sectors in Canada.
